PURPLE

PURPLE

Purple, lavender, plum, lilac… So many shades of purple and mostly never used in Hawaii interiors. I have good friend that loves purple and collects all varieties of purple glass. Its a beautiful color that can create various emotions. From the richness of a deep purple (think royal robes) to the calm of a pastel lilac, there are many that love this color. However, it is not often used in Hawaiian homes and except for the native Taro leaf; most plants with purple blooms are not native - jacaranda and bougainvillea are both from South America and even blue ginger is a native of Brazil. So if you love purple, how to do it with a tropical vibe. This gives me a chance to highlight one of my favorite textile brands - PETER FASANO. Amazing linens and other natural materials in an extraordinary array of colors and patterns. See what you think…

To create a distinctive look, pare this bright hue with a crisp white sofa (slipcovered so you can wash when needed).

What a peaceful room to relax in after seeing the jacaranda upcountry. Peter Fasano linen with Pine Cone Hill bedding.

I love this pattern called Sharpa - it reminds me of Hawaiian tapa cloth patterns - especially in this lovely plum color. Great to pair with natural linen cushions.
